出生於1939年的陳淑芳，1957年以台語片《誰的罪惡》出道，無論是黑白台語片、只有老三台時代的電視劇、以及後來各式各樣類型電影，都能看到她的演出。寬廣的戲路與積極的演出態度，也讓她成為台灣新電影最常出現的面孔之一。有線電視崛起後百家爭鳴的戲劇節目，更讓她成為跨世代觀眾都耳熟能詳的國民阿嬤。

陳淑芳的敬業與演技亦深受新世代導演倚重，而她不計戲份與製片規格的雅量，也造就演藝生涯的高峰。她因接演許承傑導演的短片《孤味》(2017)，才有後來衍生為長片並讓她榮登金馬影后的《孤味》(2020)。同年她還以鄭有傑導演的《親愛的房客》(2020) 獲得金馬獎最佳女配角，創下金馬獎史上一次抱走女主角、女配角兩項大獎的紀錄。得獎後，她除了勤做公益，依然演出不輟，而且不論電影、電視，長片、短片，甚至只是配音，也都熱心投入。

這座終身成就獎不只肯定她的演技，更是向她持續不斷獻身表演藝術的致敬，邁入影壇已六十八年的陳淑芳身體力行地示範：表演，可以是一輩子的追求。

Born in 1939, 86-year-old CHEN Shu-fang debuted in Taiwanese Dialect Film Who's Crime. Her acting career spans across B&W Taiwanese Dialect Films, Terrestrial television TV dramas, and varied genre films that followed. CHEN's versatile portrayal and vigorous attitude secure her as one of the most frequent appearances in Taiwan New Wave Cinema, including The Boys from Fengkuei (1983), The Woman of Wrath (1984), Taipei Story (1985), Dust in the Wind (1986), Osmanthus Alley (1987), A City of Sadness (1989), etc. As cable television emerged, the constant appearances have made her a national figure like everyone's granny.

CHEN's expertise is also respected and admired by emerging directors. She embraces assorted roles in varied productions, whether big or small, and this in turn brought about the climax of her career. As she acted in Joseph HSU Chen-chieh's short film Guo Mie (2017), CHEN secured her spot in the following narrative feature Little Big Women (2020), which won her Best Leading Actress Golden Horse Award. In the same year, she also won the Best Supporting Actress Award for Dear Tenant (2020) directed by CHENG Yu-chieh, making the record in Golden Horse history for double winning in these two categories in the same year. After the huge win, CHEN devotes herself to public welfare while also keeping acting in films, TV dramas, feature films, shorts or even voice-over.

With two Golden Horse Awards already under her belt, this Lifetime Achievement Award is not only an accolade to her performances, but a tribute to her perpetual endeavor. Moving into the 68th year of performing and counting, CHEN Shu-fang proves, “acting is a pursuit for a lifespan”.
